Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon Monoxide Detectors are required to be installed in all residential buildings that use fossil fuel burning appliances and/or have attached enclosed garages by March 31, 2006.

Wood, natural gas, coal and oil are all fossil fuels.

Your property must be inspected by the fire dept for CO detectors before the sell or transfer of ownership.

Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, colorless, poisonous gas produced by the incomplete combustion of fuels.

Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and shortness of breath.

If your detector is sounding or you are experiencing any of these symptoms call the Fire Dept immediately.
